Description: A Senior Buyer position has become available with our clients, a leading leisure organisation based in Beds. This role is to primarily support the management of third party expenditure and ongoing supplier management in the field of indirect categories including catering and uniforms.
 
Achieve best ultimate commercial cost and Contracts within the context of total cost of ownership (TCO) and quality requirements. This role will require the candidate to work closely with stakeholders, team colleagues and suppliers across multiple countries.
Covering the purchasing and supplier management of both high value/ high risk and low value/high risk contracts.
Building and maintaining relationships to support the maximisation of quality and service delivery to internal group customers
The buyer will be responsible for identification and delivery of sustained group wide synergies within their portfolio.
Overseas travel will feature heavily including particular emphasis on working in the UK and Germany.
Responsible for the development and ownership of their portfolio's strategy within the Category in line with customer and Purchasing Management Board Requirements
Responsible for strategy, tactics and plans to ensure delivery of bought in goods and services at the lowest ultimate cost, in area of responsibility to agreed targets.
Responsible for supporting the Purchasing process to meet audit and compliance requirements
Responsible for agreeing targets and priorities with and managing the relationship with internal customers to meet / exceed expectations.
 
Skills
Previous and proven commercial negotiation and contracting skills in an aviation environment
Proven track record of leadership, prioritisation and managing under pressure.
Extensive understanding of contractual legal terms & conditions
Excellent Negotiation and Strategic Sourcing ability
Strong Contracting Ability
Graduate Calibre
Able to demonstrate track record in use of eSourcing tools and understanding of their wider implication
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per annum
