This successful manufacturer designs and delivers turnkey solutions for global markets. They are currently experiencing significant growth and now need to strengthen their management team with a first class Purchasing and Supply Manager.

Reporting to the company Financial Director the Purchasing and Supply manager will have overall responsibility for procurement of all direct goods and services. The key objective of this position is to develop an efficient and responsive materials supply function which will ensure that all inbound materials, components and sub contract items conform to cost, quality and delivery objectives.

This person should be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) and have membership of CIPS. They should be capable of thinking both strategically and tactically but also with a hands on approach that will ensure maximum availability of materials with minimum stockholding. They must have experience of managing and motivating a small team of buyers. Some exposure to the application and implementation of ERP/MRP systems would be an advantage. A further critical aspect to this position is the development and management of suppliers from low cost sources.

This is a very challenging role in a fast moving, demanding environment and the individual will need to be resilient, committed and have a strong sense of urgency. They need to be capable of communicating and influencing the relevant managers both up and down the product delivery process.

The successful candidate will be a self starter who can work on their own initiative, have first class communication and interpersonal skills and able to quickly integrate with the current positive and friendly company culture.
