Description:

Our client is a major national manufacturer to the consumer marketplace. An exciting opportunity has arisen within their UK Procurement Department. The team can significantly impact value creation (adding value to the business) and EBIT (bottom line profit) development within the business. Both supplier selection and securing optimal quality and commercial terms & conditions in supply contracts are of critical importance in contributing to competitiveness and profitability.

The key role of Procurement is to achieve the best quality goods and services at the lowest total cost of ownership, whilst minimising risk to the business. To achieve this they work closely with key stakeholders, other business functions, and their colleagues in Group Procurement from around the world to ensure that sound supplier relationships are developed, improved and maintained. They use a number of enablers, these include a broad range of purchasing tools and processes and most important of all our people.

The main categories covered by this role will include facilities management, telecoms, HR services, local IT requirements, travel and consulting.

Key Responsibilities:

· Manage and develop national supplier relationships.

· Map, analyse and optimise supply chain opportunities for maximum value.

· Drive selected national sourcing optimisation projects for both group and national categories.

· Manage and develop key supplier performances to ensure that they are aligned with overall corporate business objectives.

· Drive and lead continuous improvement projects to identify best practice and simplify measures to add value to categories and ensure all profit opportunities are maximised.

· Manage the company’s exposure to commercial risk and supply chain vulnerability by keeping abreast of market developments.

· Design, develop, and implement UK purchasing strategies and actively influence group purchasing strategies in co-operation with Global Procurement.

· Negotiate national terms and conditions to sustain maximum competitive advantage for the business.

· Manage selected procurement categories on a regional basis, negotiating global terms and conditions, managing supplier relationships, cost and commercial negotiations.

Other skills:

Extensive use of Microsoft Power Point, Word, Outlook, Excel, SAP and Business Intelligence Systems, e-procurement systems. Full UK driving licence There will be a regular requirement for international travel Should be well organized, able to run with lots of projects at the same time and react quickly and calmly.

Education:

 

Ideally Master or Bachelor Degree or equivalent Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (if working towards CIPS our client would support financially)

Salary: £35,000 to £35,000 per Annum + Benefits
