European Procurement Manager

USA and Canada they manage more than 600 child care centres, caring for over 70,000 children.

 

Offering a truly “green-field” opportunity they are now looking to recruit a Procurement Manager to provide an efficient and cost effective value added procurement service to the organisation. Including managing key supplier relationships, evaluating and sourcing for major areas of spend and assisting with the procurement requests of any function, with an oversight for up to £15m worth of spend.

 

Responsibilities

 

To continuously improve and develop the procurement function to deliver best practice procurement, including:

 

Purchasing systems Supplier relationships Management information Cost improvements Value for money purchasing culture

 

 

Keep abreast of market forces, trends, economic price pressures and purchasing technologies.

 

Manage the approved supplier and contractor list by assessing justification for change and compatibility with business needs by controlling additions and deletions. Seek to contain supplier numbers within minimum acceptable limits

 

Analyse all aspects of vendor and procurement related data to realize untapped savings potentials.

 

To maintain and develop strong and productive internal and external relationships.

 

Experience

 

Strong commercial experience of procurement with demonstrable track record in delivering cost improvement through procurement activities, e.g. supplier management, category management, cost management skills.

 

· Must have:

· High quality customer service skills;

· Analytical, negotiation and influencing skills;

· Project Management skills;

· Solid IT skills;

· Able to work on own initiative without direct or little supervision;

· Able to manage pressure and to work to tight deadlines;

· Able to be flexible and an effective “team player”;

 

 

Salary: £40,000 to £40,000 per Annum + Benefits
