Our client is a leading business consultancy provider of large scale, complex procurement transformation programmes with over 300 procurement & supply chain consultants worldwide. They have a proven track record of successfully delivering award-winning transformation projects including the delivery of Europe’s largest public sector procurement programme. Its focus for 2008 is to continue to develop its award winning solution and extend its profile in Europe whilst maintaining the recent progress made in increasing its private sector client engagements and extending further into its existing long term client base.
 
Job Description
 
Consultants take a key role in helping to drive the Procurement Solution forward and are responsible for delivering innovative Procurement engagements.
 
Core aspects of the job are as follows:
 
Be responsible for delivery of client engagements to the value of at least £250 – £500k (deliver programmes' profitably and have accountability for managing resources, billing and debt recovery) Build strong client relationships at all levels across target business areas of Procurement Contribute to the delivery of the Procurement business plan through generating sales of at least £250 - £500k (identifying and delivering new business opportunities through positioning repeat business or supporting bids) Contribute to the development of the Procurement team capability through the development of leading edge concepts and the generation of thought leadership  
Skills & Experience (Must be able to demonstrate experience in at least 2 of the following):
 
Strategic Supplier Management: relationship mgmt & partnering skills Strategic Sourcing: experience of more than one category Experience of directs purchasing Advanced cost modelling / business modelling skills EProcurement: eAuction and eSourcing expertise Outsourcing LCCS background Procurement strategy: experience of macro strategy development   
Essential:
 
·   Proven consulting experience across public and private sectors
·   Previous & relevant industry experience/business procurement advisory background, including indirect and/or direct spend, category management, outsourcing, technology enablement and change management
 
Above all, must be able to hit the ground running and work with clients and key stakeholders to deliver solutions and take cost out of a client organisation quickly
