AAI Corporation was founded in 1950. Today, it is a global corporation providing a vast array of innovative aerospace and defense technologies. The company’s businesses include tactical unmanned aircraft systems for the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, and allied armed forces, as well as training and simulation systems, automated aircraft test and maintenance equipment, armament systems, aviation ground support equipment, and logistical, engineering, and supply chain services. AAI became an operating unit of Textron Systems Corporation and an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Textron Inc., in late 2007. United Industrial Corporation, AAI’s parent company, was publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange until its acquisition by Textron in late 2007.
